Film in Värmland - an introduction
Film i Värmland is a regional center for film, founded in 1995. Värmland is a region with 273 000 inhabitants and 16 municipalities. Our main office is situated in the largest city of the region, Karlstad.
The film center is a division of Region Värmland, a regional council run by the county council and the county's 16 municipalities. The center is also funded by the Swedish Film Institute.
What we do
Film i Värmland is a co-producer of short films and documentaries. We try to create a strong infrastructure that will make it possible for the film and media industry in the region to grow.
We support local film activities, including regional meeting places, film education and film festivals.
In the years 1997-2010 Film i Värmland has supported or co-produced some 130 shorts and documentary films.
